To kick off Reactiveate Bucks Family Fun Week, a fun-filled day is being made available on 26th May at Highworth Combined School, High Wycombe. Reactivate Bucks! Family Week, is an initiative to get more families to do activities together. The day, filled with sports fun and games for boys and girls aged six to twelve, takes place from 10.00am to 3.00pm, and is being led by professional coaches from Impact Sports Coaching (part of Bucks Sport). At just a "quid for a kid" the whole family can afford to go, with parents and guardians having the opportunity to cheer the children on or even take part!
Coinciding with May Half Term, this day course has been specially designed to give children a taster of lots of different activities ranging from football, dance, basketball and other sports related activities. The day provides a great opportunity to try something new especially for those who might otherwise prefer the couch to the sports field! As Hilary Roberts, Head of Impact Sports Coaching, explains:-
"Many children come to know our coaches at their schools. We don't want the fun to stop just because school is out. In fact this is probably the time when parents are most on the look-out for fun things to do with their children without breaking the bank. There's something for everyone during the day, including the adults who may like to try some of the fun warm-up activities led by Gwen, our dance coach!"
The Impact Sports Coaching Agency works in more than 100 schools across the county during the year. Following the success of its work, and feedback from teachers and parents, the Agency is now making available a range of unique day events during school holidays. As one parent remarked recently "my children have really enjoyed taking part...they are learning new things and are physically exhausted at the end of each day. Please run this course again!"
All children taking part will receive a certificate of attendance plus opportunities to win competitions and prizes. Children just need to bring suitable sports clothing including trainers and warm/waterproof clothing in case of bad weather. And lunch and non-fizzy liquid to drink. Parents are also asked to ensure their child has an inhaler if they are asthmatic. For more details on the day call Impact Sports Coaching on 01296 585569 or visit www.impactbucks.org
